Creating Jobs with MDRS VR
Through our partnership with Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services Vocational Rehabilitation, we are able to further both organizations’ goals of creating jobs for those with barriers to employment.
Goodwill hires VR clients to assist them in finding employment and additional job skills. Two VR clients received fork lift certification and tuition assistance is being provided to a former VR client to attend college. Our new Jacksonian Plaza location even has a training center built for assisting VR clients and disabled and non-disabled employees to learn computer and soft skills.
ALL Goodwill employees have opportunities for advancement—we have a disabled worker who has been promoted to Vice President, and one promoted to Assistant Store Manager.
