Goodwill Industries of Mississippi is pleased to announce the hiring of Adam Hazel as the organization’s new Vice President of Operations. Hazel brings more than two decades of experience in operational leadership, nonprofit management, and mission-driven service.
Hazel began his career at Jimmie Hale Mission, where he spent 20 years as Director of Enterprise managing properties, retail, salvage and export operations. Since 2020, he has served as Senior Director of Operations for Alabama Goodwill Industries, strengthening operational efficiencies and expanding mission impact.
As he steps into his new role at Goodwill of Mississippi, Hazel’s top priorities are efficiency, productivity, and leadership development. "My focus is on supporting our current retail management team, preparing them for growth, and taking Goodwill of Mississippi to the next level," said Hazel. "I want to spread the word about all the great work Goodwill is doing and help increase our impact across Central Mississippi."
Hazel is particularly drawn to Goodwill of Mississippi because of how closely the mission is integrated into daily operations. “Seeing the mission in action every day is what truly attracted me to this opportunity,” he shared. He is committed to ensuring that Goodwill’s operations facilitate opportunities for individuals to gain skills, employment, and a path to success.
Looking ahead, Hazel is excited to help Goodwill continue expanding its E-Commerce division, improving salvage and sustainability efforts, and finding new ways to be good stewards of the donations received from their generous donors.

Hazel, who has been married to his wife Dianne for 24 years, is also a proud father to Caroline, a soon-to-be high school graduate with aspirations to attend Mississippi State University.
